Tanya was born and raised in Amman, Jordan and started working in the camera department in 2010, first as a camera assistant on Features and TV, and then more exclusively in documentary. After studying in London, her work took her to some of the most inhospitable places in the world, until she settled back in the UK and began operating on TV and features, while still working as a DP in documentary. Her latest work includes Season 1 of House of the Dragon (HBO), The Ballad of Renegade Nell (Disney Plus), & A Very British Scandal (BBC). She is passionate about supporting young camera trainees in their journeys and hosts the podcast “Conversations with Camerawomen” where she interviews women working in different roles in the camera department as a resource for those entering into the industry. She is a member of the ACO (Association of Camera Operators), as well as the editor of their magazine - In the Frame.
